The South Pekin Fire Department is a 100% volunteer based department with a sole mission of protecting and preserving the lives and property of the citizens of South Pekin and surrounding area by providing Fire, Rescue, and EMS services.
The active volunteers that call the SPFD home, are comprised of your neighbors, your friends and maybe even your relatives, responding to hundreds of emergencies annually... They’re people just like you – with families, jobs and active lifestyles who find time to give back to their community.

We currently have smoke alarms to install for FREE to residents of the Village of South Pekin. If you or a loved one is in need of an alarm, contact us to schedule an installation appointment.

Mutual Aid Structure Fire
South Pekin Fire Department Engine1 and Engine2 are currently on scene of a mutual aid structure fire with Schaeferville Fire Protection District. Multiple responding agencies.
SPFD Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 20th with the hunt kicking off at the sound of the airhorn at 11am. Please bring a basket or bag for your child.
Hydrant Work with Large Diameter Hose
Training tonight was hydrant work with large diameter hose, relay pumping to our second engine and running our master stream devices along with a large attack line.

At 12:47pm on Sunday February 24, 2019 the South Pekin Fire Department was dispatched to a garage fire in the 300 block of Minch Street. Early dispatch radio traffic indicated a garage was fully involved
